Manna is a Fundraising Program

The Manna program raises funds for the general fund of the church. It is a scrip program of gift cards/certificates to provide fundraising to non-profit organizations. This year round fundraiser provides over 150 local and nationwide grocery, retail, restaurant, gas station and specialty stores gift cards/certificates to our church at a discount!

The Manna group purchases a high volume of scrip from all of the participating stores at the highest discount available. It is then offered to the congregation at a discount but we are able to offer it to our families at FULL FACE VALUE. This allows the church community to realize an immediate profit. The church receives the difference - immediately.

You participate by purchasing the gift cards/certificates with funds you have already allocated for everyday expenses such as groceries, gas, home improvements and gift giving. WE all make weekly purchases of such - but by purchasing through the Manna program the church will make a profit.

Check out the current list of available merchants - we're sure you will find somebody you can use on that list. Order forms are available on line - see top left of this page.

Orders taken from September to May are usually taken on the first and third Sundays of each month with orders taken every week prior to Christmas. The cards are available the Wednesday after a Sunday order. Sunday's order must meet a cash goal prior to ordering - or we owe Manna more than we make. Over the summer, there is usually only one order per month.

Payment is accepted in either cash or check made payable to Plainfield Congregational United Church of Christ.

The same guidelines regarding card balance and expiration apply to these cards the same as those purchased in stores. You may go the Manna web site for specifics regarding each card(i.e. information for on-line purchasing as well store locations, etc.).
