Blue Christmas Worship Scheduled December 6, 2009 4:00pm

Blue Christmas Worship Decemver 6th  - 4pm

Soup Sandwish & Salad Supper 5:15pm

One of the most powerful things about Christmas is its focus on the gift of Divine Love that was given to each of us. But often as the holidays draw near we are faced with an unexpected sense of pain from loses wehave suffered -loss of loved ones, loss of financial security, loss of health, loss of a job, loss of relationships, loss of any kind. Any loss involves feelings of grief.  So it is that for many people Christmas is a very difficult time of the year. This feelings of loss seemeven more pronounced in this season of joy. That's why the Stephen Ministers of our congregation host an annual Blue Christmas Worship experience.

It is a time that that honors the pain of loss and claims God's ever-present comfort, healing and love. This service will include quiet music, scripture, and a time for prayer. Those who have shared in this evening over the past six years have found it to be very powerful and comforting. It is open to the entire Plainfield Community, regardless of an individual's church affiliation. You are invited to come and invite anyone you know who might find such a service a blessing. This year's Blue Christmas Worship will be Sunday, December 6th at 4pm. This year you are invited to stay after the service for a Soup, Salad and Sandwich Supper.  We will also have some sweets to enjoy.  Our Stephen Ministers will be on hand and we will have some literature that others have found helpful in coping with grief during the holidays.
