Consecrating Stewards Begins!

2009 Consecrating Stewards Program Begins October 11th

Each of us have been entrusted by God with unique blessings and talents to be used to further God’s call of love and service within our church, our community, and our world.  God is calling us to recognize and use those talents and blessings.  Recognizing our still speaking God, the Stewards LIGHT Team has chosen Called!  as this year’s theme for the Consecrating Stewards program.

The Stewards Team invites everyone to join them each Sunday from October 18th through November 1st as Pastor Nancy helps us explore the “call stories” from scripture and prayerfully consider how God is calling each one of us.

Have you ever wondered what God’s vision for your life is, what God is calling you to do and be? In addition to our Sunday worship time, you have a special chance to further explore how we are Called through a four week (two hours each session) study course with Pastor Nancy.  The Catching God’s Vision, Hearing God’s Call study group will be offered on Tuesday evenings at 7pm beginning October 13th and again on Wednesday mornings at 9:30am beginning October 14th.   An alternate study group will meet on two Sundays from 2:00pm - 6:00pm on October 25th and November 1st.  This is a perfect chance for you to focus on how you have been Called in your life.  Please sign up by emailing Pastor Nancy @ Pastor.nancy@plainfielducc.org or by the calling the office at 815-436-9441.

This year’s Consecrating Stewards program culminates with Consecration Sunday - November 8th when we will have an inspiring worship experience with our Guest Steward, the Reverend Ozzie Smith.  At this service we will also have the opportunity to make our Faith Promise Commitments for 2010.  Following service, we will celebrate our responses to God’s call with a luncheon feast provided by the Stewards Team.

Throughout our lives, we are Called  by God…let us prepare to answer Him once again!
