Website and E-mail issues

What a few weeks it has been!

First, e-mail from church addresses were being blocked by some internet companies. We compensated by starting to use the plainfieldchurch.org domain, which used a different web host.

Next, the plainfielducc.org site became unavailable - both for browsing via the web and for retrieving e-mail - for days at a time. We compensated by downloading the entire plainfielducc.org website (when it was available) and switching the plainfielducc.org domain to point to the new site (this one).

Original Site

While we add content to the new site, the original site is still available at http://plainfielducc.org/index.legacy.html, so you won't miss any of the information you're used to seeing here.

E-mail

You can still send e-mail to our staff at their usual plainfielducc.org e-mail addresses. The same addresses are available at plainfieldchurch.org - both domains mean the same thing now. You can also send e-mail by going to http://plainfielducc.org/contact/ and selecting the person to whom you want to send e-mail.

Church News

In an effort to better manage our e-mail lists and to safeguard everyone's privacy, we've started using an e-mail list server. To get church news, simply send e-mail to churchnews-subscribe@lists.plainfielducc.org. You'll get a confirmation e-mail. Simply click reply and send to confirm that you want the news by e-mail.

If you use an RSS reader, you can also get notified whenever the website is updated.

For more information on RSS, see the video below:

A list of RSS readers.

We hope you'll find the new site easier to navigate, and that in time you will find that it has more information from more ministries.

If you have any comments, please feel free to add them below.

I believe my grandfather,Arthur Beddoes, was the pastor of your church around 1900.I don't know exactly when he came nor when he moved on but I do know that he and his wife, Edith, completed their studies at Wheaton College in 1896 and were married in Evanston in 1897. They must have come to Plainfield shortly after that. My mother, Jean, was born in Plainfield in 1901.

If you have any records of their stay with you that you kan share with me it would be wonderful.
